All emergency agencies in Spartanburg County are dispatched from one central location This dispatch center is located at the intersection of South Pine Street and East Main Street in Spartanburg.

Each employee of the Fire District is issued a tone alert pager. Officers are issued portable radios in addition to a pager. For more information about our Communication Department please contact Lieutenant Greg Rethi.

The North Spartanburg Fire District uses the following frequencies:

154.3100 - Main County Fire Dispatch channel

154.0250 - County Fire channel 2

154.2650 - County wide fire ground channel

155.8950 - County TAC 1

In waiting - County TAC 2

154.2200 - North Spartanburg Fire District  Tactical Channel

155.3850 - North Spartanburg Fire District Operations Channel

151.1375 - National Mutual Aid VTAC 1

154.4525 - National Mutual Aid VTAC 2

158.7375 - National Mutual Aid VTAC 3

159.4725 - National Mutual Aid VTAC 4

Spartanburg County has an enhanced 911 dispatch center. The Fire Service uses a plain text language to communicate. Each Fire Service vehicle is assigned an identification number preceded by a name or letter.

The following names are approved for use by the Communications Department:

Aerial

Car

 Engine (Example, Engine 1 at Station 1 would be North Spartanburg Engine 11)

Ladder

MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) which is referred to as M

Service or Squad

Tanker

Utility

Fire Department Officers are assigned the following:

Chief = 10 (example, our chief would be North Spartanburg 10)

Assistant Chief = 9A, 9B, 9C etc.

Captain = 8A, 8B, 8C etc,

Lieutenant = 7A, 7B, 7C etc.
