North Spartanburg Fire District VOLUNTEERS are on call 24 hours a day - seven days a week - 52
weeks a year.
These people are trained and ready to respond at a moments notice. The Fire District depends on these dedicated individuals who give their time to serve the community. Our Volunteers are divided into two groups, Fire Fighter Companies and Service Companies. These groups receive training according to their function and assigned duties. Volunteer Fire Fighters have the following benefits: Member of the South Carolina State Firefighters' Association (includes life insurance and other benefits) All needed training and required equipment is furnished Retirement with SC State Firefighters' Association (when minimum requirements are met) Worker's Compensation with additional extra coverage (covers to and from emergency calls) Volunteer Incentive Program (special deduction on SC State Income Tax (when minimum requirements are met) Public Safety Officers' Benefits Program
