We stress the need for quality live fire training to ensure we meet the core of our mission. NSFD training operates a 6,000 sq ft 4-story burn building to assist in meeting this mission. The burn building has a total of four burn cells, one of them being a two-story burn cell, a through-the-floor prop, four forcible entry doors, including interior force doors, a protected stairwell for standpipe operations, multiple balconies and windows for egress/rescue, and a window-to-door prop. Completed in 2025, NSFD was proud to work with Fordge FIre and Company on the design and build of this building

The fire service does much more than respond to fires! We are an all-hazards department that provides a wide range of technical rescue services to our district. Rope Rescue (high and low angle), Confine Space Rescue, Water Rescue (Swift and Static), Dive Rescue, and Auto Extrication services are provided by NSFD.

We provide continuing education training to our staff for both our Advanced Life Support and our Basic Life Support staff assisting them in keeping their National Registry EMT and Paramedic Certifications current, as well as courses such as CPR, ACLS, BTLS, PALS, and more.
